HELP NEEDED [ResMed S9 settings]
#11
RE: HELP NEEDED.
Good, that is important information. If your machine is using Auto Climate Control it prevents rain-out by maintaining 80% relative humidity in the delivered air. If Climate Control is set to Manual, Humidity Level and Heated Tube temperature can be set independently. So if you are in Auto Climate Control, you can get more humidity by setting to Manual. This is especially true because you live in a humid climate and it's summer.

In Manual mode, you can set the humidity from 0 to 6 (highest), and can separately control the heated tube from 60 to 86 degrees F. From your post, it sounds like you are on humidity 6 and temperature at 72. If that is true, you should be getting the maximum humidity in manual mode, and in a cool room I would expect to see condensation. If it is in Auto mode much more humidity using the manual mode than automatic climate control, which may not add any humidity when your ambient relative humidity is 80% or higher.

On your display, a water drop for humidity level, and a thermometer or hose temperature will be separately displayed in manual mode. In Auto mode they are in the same box. Be aware that even the highest temperature of 86 degrees is less than body temperature and will not feel warm to the touch, however it is still working. If you are using the highest humidity setting and still not getting moisture, it may be worth having the machine checked out. That would very likely be a malfunction. We know it is connected because you can see the controls on the menu.

It's okay to post links to CPAP manufacturer sites for reference purposes-- just can't post links to DME or other commercial websites.

Here's one link to the ResMed S9 AutoSet & S9 Elite User Manual:

To get the Clinician Manual, follow the directions here:
