Has CPAP improved your SpO2 levels?
Quite unexpectedly, I've noticed my SpO2 blood oxygen levels steadily going up over the past 3-4 weeks, since starting CPAP therapy. Is this an expected/known side effect?
From a low of 92-93%, things improved to 94%, then 95% last week, and I'm now reading consistently at 96%, according to my Fitbit watch. Overnight numbers have always been excellent (up to 99%), and no change there; but I'm pleased with the daytime numbers' improvement.
Has this happened to anyone else?
RE: Has CPAP improved your SpO2 levels?
Congratulations.
It happened to me as well. In a home sleep study (on room air) my low SPO2 was recorded at 78.
Back when I was using the Trilogy Evo ventilator, I got a perfect 0.0 ODI (oxygen desaturation index - both 3% and 4% drops) score with my Wellue SleepU oximeter.

RE: Has CPAP improved your SpO2 levels?
I'll quickly add that my overall cognition and responsiveness appear to have improved as well. For instance, as a lifelong Tetris player, my high scores long ago plateaued around 200,000. In fact, prior to commencing CPAP, I rarely scored higher than 100,000 even after playing for well over an hour.
This week, not only did I achieve my highest score ever (nearly 400,000!), it almost happened without me noticing or even trying very hard. Indeed, I've enjoyed a long series of 200k+ games which before CPAP was, frankly, unimaginable at my age.
Color me surprised (but pleasantly so).
