Help analyzing OSCAR results

Help analyzing OSCAR results
Hi all, thanks for allowing me to join. I wanted to share the results I've had trying different CPAP settings, as although I think the numbers may look pretty good, I still wake up very tired, so I feel like I'm missing something. I'm still pretty new to sleep apnea, so I'll be happy to share any other information that would be helpful. Thanks!

RE: Help analyzing OSCAR results
Welcome

We need to see a couple of recent daily charts to help you.  Copy each chart by pressing the F12 key (FN+F12 for Mac).  Usually, that gets it right.  Make sure the chart contains the following, and only the following items on the first page, in the order listed:

Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limits

We need to be able to read to the bottom of the flow limits. Don't post other pages or close-ups unless asked to.

Again, welcome, and best wishes for achieving great therapy and comfort!  Smile

Thanks, Deborah! Here are three nights, one using AutoSet, one using V-Com and no EPR, and one using fixed pressure with EPR. Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see...

RE: Help analyzing OSCAR results
How long have you been using your machine? Which day did you use V-Com? It looks like you used CPAP for two of the days and AutoSet for only one. Which day did you feel the best when you woke up?

You had great AHIs all three days, and more leaks on the third, but that could be coincidental.

You appear to be using ramp, set at 4. I suggest you raise that to 8, as you don't seem to feel bad with your pressure at 12. Or, turn ramp off altogether if you don't feel you need it. Not everyone does.

RE: Help analyzing OSCAR results
I've been using it since about November, but I didn't really start learning much until the last few months and didn't even realize how many settings I could adjust on my own.

The one with V-Com was where pressure was fixed at 12.

My results have been mixed, which is part of why I'm trying to get help:
Using V-Com, I woke up a bit more during the night, but I was less out of breath in the morning.
Using EPR, but no V-Com, I didn't wake up much during the night, but I was much more out of breath the next day.
Regardless of any other settings used, I would wake up a bunch once I got to pressures of 13 or higher.

I'll play around with the ramp settings. At least setting the pressure higher should be fine, but I definitely needed a ramp when I got up to 13 or higher.

What is the best way to know if UARS is present?
