Help finding a Cpap supplier
I need to get a new Cpap machine mine is 5 years old. I have Medicare and Medicaid I used to have American Home Patient before Lincare bought them out when I needed supplies everything was fine, but now they will not replace the machine.  Any ideas?  In Omaha Nebraska

RE: Help finding a Cpap supplier
I think the big 3 national will be on the in-network list as they were for me when I was on original Medicare. I'm now on an Advantage plan.

Check Apria, Lincare, Rotech, but there's likely others so I'd call the customer service and see what they say.

Is CPAP still comsidered competitive bidding for Medicare? Or can O change supply companies?

What reason did they give you for not replacing the machine?

Also, did your doctor send an order/prescription for a machine replacement? I think you would have to start with your doctor.

When I replaced my 6 yo System One I needed to have a new sleep study as the old one was over 5 yo. Once I had that, Medicare (standard) had no issues giving me a new machine.

I went to the Dr and got a new RX WITH the name of the exact machine I wanted with a note dispense as prescribed. There was no questions asked - got my machine within days.

None because I have not heard from them since my doctor sent the new order in.  But they always contacted me to reorder supplies.

My opinion is to give a follow-up call to check on progress. Check with your doc too and if it's not a big problem, ask for the script to include the name ResMed AutoSet. You may have a choice to make on another 10 series or the new 11.

You need to follow up and ask if they received the doctors order.
Also check with your insurance to see if there is any reason they would deny a replacement for a 5 year old machine.
