If you have a place to put water in the machine, you have a heated humidifier.

Also, when you are able, consider that heated hose.
This was a game changer for me, and made a lot of difference in my comfort and the rainout.

Personally, I can't use a heated hose. It raises my central apnea index. So I set my humidifier on the highest setting possible that doesn't give me rain out.

That is an interesting analysis. I would like to learn how your finding came about.

I have just acquired the climate control hose for my AirCurve.  WOW.  IMHO this is a must addition.  I'm impressed with the humidity control and the comfort it adds.

(I've never had rainout in 14 years)  Get it if you are having any kind of issues with humidity, even if you are not.

I used a heated hose and my AHI went up above 5, due mostly to CA's. It's usually between zero and 3, never above 4.

I'm curious. Any guess as to why a heated hose can influence your AHI central score? I've got central apnea as well. I can't do without the heated hose on full. ResMed tops at 86°F I think on the hose.

I have a heated hose but i also got about 2$ worth of material from a fabric store and made my own hose cover. I do not get any rain out. I also like to sometimes keep the hose under my blankets with me to help keep me warm on cool nights. There isn't any need to spend a ton of money on a hose cover if your on a budget.
