How do I set the clock of a ResMed AirSense 10 to the nearest second?
I have a ResMed AirSense 10 Elite CPAP machine and an O2 Ring pulse oximeter, which produce data that I load into Oscar. I would like the clocks of each to be synchronised to the nearest second so that the respective displays in Oscar line up.
The clock on the oximeter can only be set automatically by client software loaded into my mobile phone or my Windows PC. The clock is currently set accurately to the nearest second to my local time.
The clock on the CPAP machine is currently running 28 seconds fast.
From my point of view, this machine has a clock with two main parts: a battery-operated crystal-controlled pulse generator, which produces a pulse every minute that I cannot control, and a display of minutes and hours that I can control. Apparently, the pulse generator part is not paused when I set the minutes and hours, so the display is always 28 seconds fast (modulo 1 minute).
The only thing I can think of to synchronise the oximeter and CPAP clocks is to
1 Disconnect the internet from my PC to disable automatic clock synchronisation with UCT.
2 Set the computer clock manually to be 28 seconds fast.
3 Connect the oximeter to set its clock 28 seconds fast.
Once I reconnect the internet to my PC, the PC clock will get resynchronised to correct local time.
When it comes time to download the oximeter data into my PC, to load into Oscar, I would have to go through the above rigmarole again so that the oximeter clock would not be reset.
I don't think I could be bothered doing that each day.
If there is a way to set the CPAP pulse generator via the mobile network, that option is not available to me because the machine is a few years old and only has a 3G modem in it, and the 3G mobile network in Australia was closed down late last year.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
