How hard is it to upgrade with Medicare ?
I’m eligible for a machine replacement with Medicare, I would like to get a Vauto to try to tame some periodic breathing. My thought is trying to ask my PCP to fax a script to my DME along with a certificate of medical necessity, and maybe a few Oscar charts as documentation. I will have her write the script and include ( disperse as written) Resmed Aircurve 10 Vauto. Do you think it will work? If she goes along with my plan.

Medicare will require a recent sleep study even if you are a long time user to prove that you need a machine. It is up to your doctor to "justify" and prescribe your machine. Given that Medicare should not be an issue. How much you pay may depend on what, if any, supplemental insurance you have.

Thanks Gideon! If Medicare is going to require another sleep study I will probably just use Supplier #1 or pick up a used one. I was hoping my PCP could just send a script and documentation stating that it would benefit me. O well.
