I never wash my hose either, and have had no problems.
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution and F&P Nova Micro

I wash my CPAP hose every now & then. I also have a brush I can use on it. I completely submerge the hose in hot soapy water and let it soak for 30 min. or so. 

I then dry it off with a towel and hang it vertically for a few hours. I make sure that the electrical contacts are absolutely dry before putting it back in use.
