36005 is the S9 Autoset, with full data recording, and is the APAP you typically want. The 36065 (360x5, where x is a number) is the same Autoset, except with pink covers.

There are ordering variants of the unit, like 36015, but this just means the 36005 with a H5i humidifier. 36025 is just a 36005 with the H5i and the Climateline hose. I do not believe you will actually see a 36015 on the unit, as this is just a way to order additional features at one time.

Here is the current CPAP, APAP and VPAP that I am aware of:
36001 S9 CPAP Escape (CPAP Only)
36002 S9 APAP/CPAP Escape Auto (No data)
36003 S9 CPAP Elite
36004 S9 VPAP S
36005 S9 APAP/CPAP AutoSet
36006 S9 VPAP Auto
36009 S9 VPAP ST-A
36037 S9 VPAP Adapt
36038 S9 VPAP ST
36039 S9 VPAP ST-A
36065 S9 APAP/CPAP AutoSet, Pink

The serial number tells place and year of manufacture:

i.e. 2211xxxxxxx

22 = Australia
23 = Singapore
11 = 2011
xxxxxxx = Serial number

Hi there,

Just wondering does anyone know the difference between a ResMed S9 AutoSet model 36005 and the model 36005A ?

Thanks John

Hi again,

Thanks for the replies.

Just another Question about the ResMed S9 AutoSet.
What happens if the mains power goes OFF (a Black Out) when you are asleep at night using it ?

Thanks John

Hi vk3hjq, just wondering if you ever found out about the machine '36005A'?

Cheers.

Hi Clementine, where did you buy your machine from? If you dont mind me asking?did you pay the normal price for it? Have you been able to find the 36005A listed anywhere?
I have this machine as well. It is great but I have been unable to find it listed anywhere.

Hi all,
No one seems to know the difference between a ResMed S9 AutoSet 36005 and 36005A, the retailer of the unit tells me it's the same unit. It may well be an updated version, i don't know.......

Thanks Clementine. $5000!! If it was or if it wasn't, which I I am sure it wasn't at least it didn't come out of your pocket.
I have been concerned because I couldn't find the 'A' model anywhere and thought maybe I had a counterfeit or something.
I now feel better and have even found out I have a 2014 model so I will stop worrying.
It is a great little machine and is doing everything it should and shouldn't and I purchased it at a bargain price, so I am more than happy.

Sound like price gouging and a blatant rip-off to me, because the insurance is paying for it, they jack up the price. It makes me so mad!

Hi, made a mistake and discovered it this morning. I have the 36006A, not the 36005. That's what I get for not looking closer at that label yesterday.

Well, part of it came out of my pocket due to our deductible --- I don't know how much off-hand. , I was just so surprised that this little machine could be priced at $5,000 --- I'm sure the actual cost to insurance was much less.
