RE: If you had one wish
We're already wearing headgear. It might be useful to have a rudimentary assessment of brainwave activity to determine the stages of sleep. Mebbe. Some of us don't sleep well, or think we don't. I don't know if it would be a good thing to know for sure, but it should be up to the wearer to determine what, if anything, they should know about their quality of sleep. Remember that a big factor in successful PAP therapy is what psychologists call 'face validity'. If we walk around feeling like zombies, even with apparently successful therapy, and many report this brain fog problem, maybe we can get some use out of more routine determinations.
Sometimes bed partners report being annoyed by the noises accompanying working PAP machines. Maybe that problem could be addressed somehow.
I guess that's a start. Thank-you for thinking of this topic, and I wish you great success.

Something that could be fitted inside the throat to stop it closing in the first place, but still allow the vocal cords etc to work correctly.
Not that will be a challenge!
I am NOT a doctor. I try to help, but do not take what I say as medical advice.
Every journey, however large or small starts with the first step.
RE: If you had one wish
1. I wish the Machines had a sensor that detected the type of masked used and automatically adjusted settings for it.
2. Also internal memory that saved detailed data for a year or more and had a USB slot for a memory stick where you could download data.
RE: If you had one wish
While I think of it, would you consider dealing in some way with the mouth breathing problem, specifically the problem with loss of tone in the lips? We have chin straps and cervical collars doing yeoman service for keeping the chin up and jaws somewhat closed, but for those of us who go fully slack when we sleep, it's the lips that get us. I can't seem to get the tongue-suck technique to work unless I am conscious, but my father reports he seems to do that technique routinely and naturally and he doesn't have a problem with his new regimen of PAP.
It will have to be a cover that affixes to the front straps of the headgear maybe...not sure..., maybe something inserted into the mouth like a soother.

A self-installing mask when the patient lies on their bed...
the USB data stick sounds nice too

A position recorder would be nice so you know what position you are in when you have apneas. Also a built in oximeter that doesn't cost $1000.00. It would also be nice to monitor your sleep stages.
