To getting an oximeter that interfaces with the CPAP machine vs one that doesn't?

You don't necessary need one that interfaces with your CPAP. Get a recording oximeter that works with OSCAR charts so you can import the data. It's cheaper this way. Unless you really want to buy the $1,000 ResMed part.
