I'm pretty new to CPAP and new to OSCAR. Still trying to get past 3 hours/night with the mask on, and I have one night's worth of OSCAR data, which I've attached below.
But first some background. I'm currently on APAP with a pressure range of 8-10. A home sleep study (I understand that home studies have serious limitations) had the following results for me:
Monitoring time was 462.5 minutes.
Based on CMS criteria (using a 4% oxygen desaturation rule for scoring hypopneas), there were 8 apneas (3 obstructive; 5 central; O mixed), and 25 hypopneas. Apnea index was 1.0. Hypopnea index was 3.2. The apnea-hypopnea index was 4.3 overall (8.5 supine, 1.7 non-supine.)
Based on AASM criteria (using a 3% oxygen desaturation and /or arousal rule for scoring hypopneas), there were 8 apneas (3 obstructive; 5 central; 0 mixed), and 50 hypopneas. Apnea index was 1.0. Hypopnea index was 6.5. The
apnea-hypopnea index was 7.5 overall (15.5 supine, 2.5 non-supine).
Respiratory events were associated with oxyhemoglobin desaturations (nadir 82.0%) from a mean of 93.0%). OXIMETRY: Total time spent at, or below 88% was 28.4 minutes, or 6.1% of monitoring time.
My sleep doc was most concerned about those low O2 levels. I don't know if it matters, but the 02 sensor fell off my finger at least twice during the test. But I've been wearing an O2 sensor since starting CPAP and my lows are now in the low 90s, so some improvement there.
My question about my OSCAR data is it looks like I'm mostly between a pressure of 8-9, and only once getting to 10 and that looks like it might be the result of a leak? But based on this admittedly tiny sample, do these numbers look decent? Does my APAP range make sense?
I so appreciate any feedback.
