LeakySleeper - Therapy Assistance

RE: Struggling with Leaks – Need Some Advice
Mate, I appreciate your help!

Leaks are getting better each night, I'm determined to persist!
I'm not overly sure if I toss and turn. I only sleep on my right side as my left sinuses get really blocked if I sleep that side. I tend to go to sleep and wake in the same positions, unless I shuffle more than I realise. My partner is a very heavy sleeper, so she has no insight Smile

I wonder if there's anything in OSCAR that can help me determine that?

Certainly when I'm awake I catch myself holding my breath, frequently (when concentrating or straining).

The last two nights have been pretty consistent with the addition of the collar, I'm thinking the OA's earlier were mainly positional.
OA's are low, but CA's are still fairly high.

Will try EPR on 2 tonight.

RE: Struggling with Leaks – Need Some Advice
EPR 2 seems to have reduced the CA's by about 40%

Leaks are getting much better - as you suggested, a soft cervical collar is helping me stay in the right positions.
Thanks again for your help.

I'll give EPR @ 2 a go for another night or two - then might report back in a few with a new thread asking for help managing CA's Smile

Great news, glad that the collar helps.
Try lowering the EPR to 1 for a few nights and see if the CAs diminish even more, unless you are uncomfortable.
On you chart uncheck the event break down as it takes to much space and consider hiding the snore graph, lower right you can deselect charts to display.

Help with CA's - is BiPAP my next treatment route
Hey all,

Looking for some help on my central apneas - I've got my leaks under control, but the last few weeks I've been feeling more and more tired.
I'm getting well over 32% REM sleep (according to my whoop) - which is massive, and likely REM rebound.

I can't tolerate any lower than an EPR of 2 with my min pressure at 8 (You can see what changes I've made over time below).

I've made a massive improvement from the AHI on my sleep study - but these CA's are happening frequently and possibly waking me.

Can anyone take a squiz at my OSCAR charts and make any suggestions?

Thanks for your help jdougc.
Leaks under control, CA's not improving.

I've started another thread related to my CA's here too: https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread...ment-route

(also changed the layout of the chart as per your suggestion!)

Ugh, the dreaded new thread. The administrators don't like that and will eventually combine the treads, to make it easier to follow the history.

You have consistent leaks that may be effecting your therapy. Nasal masks more so than full face masks seem to be more sensitive to leaks, in my opinion. Maybe more experienced people can add their perspective.
When you zoom in around the CAs  is the breathing ragged or is there a gasp before the CA? Are holding your breath as you roll over?

RE: LeakySleeper - Therapy Assistance
LeakySleeper - As jdougc said, both of your threads were related to your therapy. For this reason, I have merged them. This provides the reader a history of your past settings and results. Having the ability to see past attempts and their results will help to form better recommendations. Please use this thread for all your therapy related posts. I have changed the thread title to, LeakySleeper - Therapy Assistance to be more inclusive.

RE: LeakySleeper - Therapy Assistance
The soft cervical collar really helps you, but your body might need time to get used to the improvement. That might be the reason for the CAs, not really sure. How are you feeling in the morning? Maybe make a journal as you get adjusted. The leaks you have look like mouth leaks, so constant. I use two in wide tape. It took awhile to get used to it, but I am happy with the results.

RE: LeakySleeper - Therapy Assistance
Yeah, the collar made a difference - very minimal OA's since.

I'm craving sleep and just can't get enough (likely REM rebound - my watch is tracking a LOT of REM sleep - who knows how many years I was untreated for).
When I get up, I feel tired, groggy and it seems to persist throughout the day, although it's much better than I was before I started treatment.

I'll know if I had a low AHI if I don't need a coffee to get me into gear!

Struggled with tape - ripping out my beard or the skin from my lips. But will try that again. It feels like my head will be completely wrapped up by the end of this!

I journal every morning using my Whoop - which makes recommendations around wake/sleep times, good habits, bad habits, headache severity, stress levels, energised etc.
