Long time user, new machine - need help

Long time user, new machine - need help
I have been using bipap therapy since 2008.  My pressure settings were very high, 16 epap and `19 ipap  I recently got a a dreamstation auto bipap.  I do have the provider and user manual.    After my first night I saw the 90% ipap as 20 and the epap as 19.5.  How do I get the epap lower. I have it set to auto B, Flex is at 3 (highest)  My big if is the pressure support settings.  I currently have 2 min and 4 max.  Actually I don't even know what this is.

I cannot ask my sleep doctor as the company I went through is no longer in business.  My primary dr wont help and referrerd me to a respiratory specialist who want to do numerous tests in addition to another sleep study none of which my insurance is willing to pay for.

I have no problem with the gale force winds in my nasal mask.  I am very used to it.  Actually it is difficult to get used to the lower pressure as I am falling asleep.

I hope someone on here can help.

To answer your question, it would help to see your data from Sleepyhead to know what is driving your pressure and if you have some room to drop pressure, and what your settings actually are.  The Dreamstation BiPAP Auto can be set to AutoB mode.  This will provide you with settings for EPAP min, EPAP max, PS min, PS max and IPAP max.   To get EPAP lower, set the EPAP max to the setting you want (i.e. 16 cm).  EPAP min and max can be the same if you choose.  You are using a range of PS, but that can also be set to a single value.  If you were previously using 19/16 fixed bilevel, that is PS 3.  In AutoB mode, you could set EPAP min at 14, EPAP max at 16, PS min and max at 3, and let IPAP max go to 20.

BiFlex is a comfort pressure relief during exhale, but that is not going to show up in the charts or pressure statistics.  You can use the BiFlex demo mode to feel the difference between settings 1, 2 and 3. My preference was a low BiFlex on the 760.

I have Auto B set but I only see Epap min not Epap Max.  Will the higher the PS setting result in more difference between Epap and Ipap.
