Machine Needs to be repaired ????
I have a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV machine. It's motor has developed a high pitched scraping noise. I called my DME and they said they would have to send it to have it repaired and it would take 4-6 weeks. They said they have no loaners for this particular machine. I called several other major dealers in my area and none had loaners. Resmed just refers me back to me DME. The machine is less than 2 yrs old and still under warranty. It appears my only solution is to buy another one at my own expense ($2000+) as Medicare will not pay for another one now. My DME said many people have backup machines. I'm not going to believe that people just fork over a couple of thousand dollars to have a backup machine. I obviously can't be without the machine for even a night as I have substantial central and obstructive apnea, hence the need for this expensive machine. Has anyone else ever encountered a problem like this before?? Thanks for any guidance.

RE: Machine Needs to be repaired ????
maybe you could replace the motor yourself ?
this would be a cheaper solution, but this would most likely make you LOOSE YOUR WARRANTY and they maybe wouldn't give you a refund for the new motor either. or you somehow push for a new or replacement device. others may help you better, there.

RE: Machine Needs to be repaired ????
I keep a backup machine but being an APAP it cost $1200, not $2K. The only time I had a machine fail was in the first thirty days after receiving it. It was replaced. I have seen videos on how to replace motors in machines but that would void the warranty.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.
