Machine whining

Machine whining
I've noticed the last few nights my machine is making a whining noise each time I inhale. Any ideas?

RE: Machine whining
Remove and separate the humidifier, hose, and mask. Inspect for leaks/holes in all. Firmly reseat all of the above (Humidifier is the likely culprit).

Also, check the filters. They should be routinely changed at least once a month.

I always pick the 1st of each month and change them, wipe down my machine, wash the humidifier chamber, hose, mask......

I'll check the humidifier. I just replaced the filters a week,or two ago.

RE: Machine whining
If the noise follows the fan speed, it might be a warranty issue.

That is the fan speed.  As you inhale it needs to spin faster to provide the air to fill your lungs while maintaining the pressure.  Conversely, when you exhale it spins slower.  If you rule out leaks, it sounds like the blower has developed problems.  I've had to replace a Dreamstation due to this issue.

I switched from my F30 mask to a Wisp mask last night, problem has gone away.

And now I hear it again, not as prominent as with the F30.

Sometimes 'flashing', bits of plastic left over from the casting/injection-molding, processes, can be in the airway or on generating surfaces.  Or, a fan blade might have a sleek on its surface, or a small fracture that emits noise of a frequency as air passes over the surface.  Or, our hoses aren't quite correctly seated in the mask's receptacle (happened to me).

Or it is internal to you.  Too-funny Good luck with that one.
