Wattage of Resmed Air Sense 10 without humidifier?

May not reduce the power consumption much, but on a plane you likely will and should put the AS10 in 'Airplane Mode'. This should disable the cellular modem and Bluetooth modules which could possibly reduce the watts drawn by a small amount.

I tested the AC to DC power block to see if it drew current when the Cpap was not plugged ion and found that did!!! according to my cheapee meter---about .03 or .04 amps  at 120v AC, I think.

The advantage of the side cover is that the cpap is smaller, if you are not going to use the humidifier on a camping trip for example.  I have yet to try it out, but one thing I think about just plugging in the humidifier and not using it ---is it provides one more source of failure because the humidifier has to fit perfectly or you have problems with leakage etc.  and you don't want to have that chance of failure especially if you are travelling.  I am guessing that the side cover fits better because you (I) have to sort of squeeze the humidifier when inserting it and I have experienced problems several times.  I would be interested in hearing from someone who actually uses the side cover.

The other thing I noticed was that my back-up S9 drew more current than my "newer" one with fewer hours on the motor!!!!
