Mask liner alter the fit of the mask?

I have used mask liner in the past and it helps reduce noise, sometimes prevent leaks and reduce itching. I noticed that it sometimes alters the fit of the mask.  I did have to enlarge the holes in the nose portion of the liner to make it easier to breathe; however I believe the added piece of material tightens the overall fit and makes it harder to exhale.  I currently use the Resmed Hybrid F40 mask.  Has anyone had similar experiences using a liner to reduce sensitivity to silicone ?   Are there any workarounds?

I found a mask liner to cause leaks so I gave up on one for the F20.  I did not know till now there is one for the F40.  Thanks.  I will seek one out to try again.
