My experience with P10 | Brevida | Nova Micro masks

My experience with P10 | Brevida | Nova Micro masks
Thought I would share my experiences with all 3 masks since they are similar. I hope this information is helpful.

ResMed Airfit P10 - Used this mask for several years. Love / Hate relationship. Loved how small, light and quiet it was. But fit wise the medium seemed a little small and the large was too big, could not get and keep a good seal and it rubbed on my upper lip. The worst thing was the mesh exhaust ports suddenly clogging up, despite weekly cleaning and blowing dust/dirt/moisture out using a portable air blower, especially in winter months when our house is colder at night. To get around the clogging, I used a sewing needle to put 4 holes in the mesh on each side. This allowed a lot more air to vent.

F&P Brevida - Loved this mask. Very comfortable and quiet. The M/L pillow was perfect. Only issue was getting a small leak if I moved around too much due to the "wings" on the side of the pillow pushing against my pillow and causing a small break in the seal. Nothing bad though and my leaks were 0L initially and 4L if the mask got pushed a little to one side while sleeping. The diffuser worked really well too, whisper quiet. And no clogging.

F&P Nova Micro - wow, my new favorite mask. Goes to my #1 position. Smaller and lighter than the P10, almost as quiet as the P10 and Brevida. After 2 weeks of using it, consistent 0L leaks!!!!! Very comfortable too. I thought I would need the large pillows as I heard they run a little smaller than the P10 pillows but found the large was too big and the medium was perfect. There is a small amount of air venting as it doesn't use a mesh or diffuser but it only extends about 4 inches from my face and doesn't go into my eye. Overall I love this mask. And my AHI is a little lower than it was using the P10 or Brevida. Can't explain why but I'm not complaining.

RE: My experience with P10 | Brevida | Nova Micro masks
Yeah, I like the F&P Nova Micro a lot too.  I developed a skin problem that made me unable to use my beloved, Bleep.  First I used an old ResMed P30i.  It leaked a LOT, was uncomfortable, and drove me crazy.  Then I found the Nova Micro and BINGO!  I like it almost as much as Bleep, and that's saying a lot.

One of the tricks I discovered is to not push the mask up tight against your nose.  That makes it hurt.  Sit it just a little lower and all is well.  Smile

RE: My experience with P10 | Brevida | Nova Micro masks
I forced myself to go a whole nice with the micro nova last night and it seemed ok. I need to find the medium pillow as the small is to small and the large is to large, but it's missing somewhere. I hope my dog didn't get it. I had to stretch the bands out for a couple hours in advance.

I had to wear an eye mask though as the vents on it were blowing directly in my eyes and I couldn't handle that. Is that something I just have to get used to? Or is there a way to make it work better?
