Need Help Diagnosing Machine Problem

Need Help Diagnosing Machine Problem
Last night I got ready to go to sleep and noticed a noise that I thought was a leak coming from my mask and kept adjusting trying to get it to stop which it never did. I fell asleep but woke up a few hours later hearing the same noise again. Then I realized it was not coming from the mask but rather my machine. It is making what sounds like a whining noise that revs up and down whenever I breathe. When I breathe in it gets louder and softer when I breathe out. It is loud enough that it kept me from getting back to sleep. My machine is a Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto. Has anyone ever ran into this problem before on any Resmed machine and what do I need to do to fix it?

Thanks,
Mark

Do you use the humidifier? Usually, noise reports occur when either the tank in not completely sealed or it is not completely inserted into the machine. The tank uses a face type of seal, which requires enough compression on it to prevent leaks.

Barring the humidifier, I would look for a leak in the hose or dirty air filter.

I do use the humidifier. When I woke up in the middle of the night and still heard it I pulled the tank out and re-installed it but it still made the noise. It does not sound like a steady air leak but it almost sounds like it involves the motor because of the way the noise revs up and down according to my breathing.

It could be a motor bearing going bad .. There are threads on the forum about where to buy and how
to replace the motor and turbine ..
Good Luck !! Steve

Until I get this problem fixed, I will have to start using my re-issued Respironics Dreamstation Auto Pap machine. Can someone tell me how to adjust the pressure on it to be close to what my settings on my Aircurve 10 VAuto Bipap machine are.

Thanks,
Mark

Does anyone know where I can purchase parts to repair my machine? I have diagnosed it as a bad blower.

Thanks,
