RE: Need some help settling down my Breathing and Flow Limits
You would get more help if you post an Oscar chart. Lots of us don't read sleephq.

How do you feel though? That's more important once you're under 1 AHI.
Some of those flow spikes will always be there. They're sighs and a completely normal part of breathing. You could make small increases to minimum pressure to try to reduce those flow limits.

RE: Need some help settling down my Breathing and Flow Limits
Thank you, Deborah. I actually had a post concerning that, but I split off on it when I started speaking to my apnea challenges. It is in the software section, referring to as "needing a path to send Data from the sd card." It wants me to choose a folder, which I can't or Browse, which doesn't help either. I tried a couple of suggestions, that didn't work. I would prefer Oscar, as I've used it before, when it first came out. It is what it is. The two are not oceans apart in function.

RE: Need some help settling down my Breathing and Flow Limits
Thanks for your reply. I'm still sleepy during the day. That's what makes me think something is making me wake up at night a lot. I know I have extreme dry mouth, so that's an issue. I have a cervical collar. Some of my med contribute to dry mouth, and I'm a mouth breather. That adds to to airflow inside the mask. I bought a hose cover to increase the humidity without rainout, and I bought some Biotin Gel to hopefully solve some of that. Don't really like taping the mouth. I'm scheduled to see if I qualify for the "Inspire" device in March. Trying to cover everything I can do.
RE: Need some help settling down my Breathing and Flow Limits
Is it sealing your mouth in general you don't like or specifically the tape?
I ask because I use a product called MouthShield and there's another called somnoseal.

RE: Need some help settling down my Breathing and Flow Limits
The two products I mentioned are pieces of medical silicone you put in your mouth between your teeth and lips. I have the MouthShield and it works good. There was some initial discomfort and it has markings so you can trim to fit but they suggest waiting a week. I did not end up needing to trim. It was more expensive than somnoseal but I chose it because somnoseal recommends theirs be replaced a few times a year and mentioned some people still needed tape in the beginning to keep it from falling out. Overall it was expensive but its a one time purchase vs ordering tape and it works very well.

RE: Need some help settling down my Breathing and Flow Limits
I bought some Biotene Gel yesterday, and gave it a try. Unfortunately, I was scheduled for a heart procedure, and was too wired to use the V auto or sleep much. But the gel works. Kind of an oily feel, but I KNOW I used too much.... We'll try tonight.
