Need urgent help with Sefam Dreamstar auto - new to sleep apnea
Hi all,
my dad was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea some time ago. He recently had further health issues and his memory is now not the best.
I have been unable to find his documentation related to the previous sleep diagnosis, he also had to move countries to come closer to me so i can look after him and it is a generally messy situation logistically speaking.
Point is, his previous machine broke, and I managed to find a slightly used (160h total used) Sefam Dreamstar Auto for a fantastic price (his old one was out of stock everywhere).
What I do know is that he previously used the machine on the auto setting and had good results with that. Now, this machine seems easy to operate (and i bought it as it does have the auto CPAP function), however it is locked on CPAP mode and I cannot activate auto-CPAP.
I am in Italy currently and in a place heavily hit by corona so doctors visits are a bit of a mess right now and i need to sort this out fairly quickly as he is already having trouble sleeping and I would just like to be able to use the machine.
Is anybody able to help with this? The manual isn't of much help and I contacted sefam but got no answer.
Thanks

Hi vale94,
Welcome to Apnea Board!
You can order a Clinicians Manual for your machine. This will show you how to access the Provider Mode so you can make adjustments.

Scroll down to Section Three, look under "Other Manuals".

Hi! Thanks a lot for your help, I don't know how I didn't figure that out after snooping around on the website.
Unrelated to this, but I am still on time to return this machine. I have found some info here:
apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-Comparative-Analysis-of-8-APAP-Machines?highlight=sefam+auto
that shows it performs very poorly. I am very new to all this and had trusted the 12 5 star website reviews, but it seems to be bottom of the line. What a resource this forum is! Again, thank you.

At this point its best to invest in a Airsense 10 autoset. You wont be disappointed.

Agree, the ResMed Airsense 10 AutoSet is the one you should consider.
I dont know what is available in your country, but here is a link that may help.
