Newbie questions on tweaking settings
Hi all! I'm new to this journey of sleep therapy and I'm only on my 2nd sleep of using the cpap device and mask. Being excited, I've scoured these forums for some additional tweaks to help reduce leaking on the mask, I've read the Mask Primer wiki post as well.
I'm usually a back + side sleeper (toss and turn when I can't breathe or muscle aches), ever since using the Resmed Airfit N20, I've had to sleep on my back only but it's uncomfortable. Side sleeping causes the mask to leak air onto my eyes and then I spend minutes worrying and adjusting the fit, I know it's a process and I'm fine tuning the adjustments daily.
I'm also in the process of buying a cervical neck rest because I tend to chin tuck and my mouth opens during sleep sometimes (the rest of the time my tongue is resting against the roof of my mouth), I can't do mouth tape because of my sensitive skin. My pillow is a gel/memory foam type because flatter types give me a backache and neck ache, but that also means the mask is squished and loses form which then leaks. I'm trying to train myself to sleep at the edge of the pillow without dropping off the bed
Some things i have changed after the 1st night of sleep with it:
Thank you in advance!

Some things i have changed after the 1st night of sleep with it:
- Reduced ramp time from 15 minutes to 5 minutes
- Changed mask mode from Nasal to Pillow (Not sure, I checked the mask manual and it said to use Pillow setting)
- Tried the device's mask fit option before sleeping to get the highest pressure to adjust and fit the mask
Thank you in advance!
