Newly Diagnosed

RE: Newly Diagnosed
As new as you are to Apap machine use, asking your DME to switch your machine for a ResMed Airsense Autoset 10 machine may be possible. You can explain that the ResMeds are better machines, and that's what you want. I specifically suggest the 10 machine, knowing that the 11s are out, but the 10 has a better track record, and they may be more willing to switch since the 11s are out and probably cost them more.

Also, the ResMed will work much better with Oscar, so we can offer much more help.

I'll be praying that it works for you, should you decide to approach them about this.
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution and F&P Nova Micro

RE: Newly Diagnosed
Hi Jay thanks for the link.

Hi Deborah

Thanks for your good wishes, I am in Australia and we don't have any form of subsidy for cpap so I had to buy my machine. I watched the Aus cpap reviews channel and it was a recomended machine, had a fairly decent easter discount making it cheaper than resmed, was german so I thought why not. I didn't research enough, for instance I thought the modem would allow me to auto upload to the likes of Oscar or PC but it doesn't.

Latest chart, was a poor nights sleep:

RE: Newly Diagnosed
Your are welcome.

You are sleeping good until about 1:45.  Then you get flow limitations for some reason and the pressure increases.  Then for the rest of the night, it looks like you alternate between good sleep and sleep with flow limitations.  Line up vertically the FL limitations in the top chart; the flow rate chart, and pressure chart to see what times you are sleeping good and when you are not sleeping well.  Any thoughts on what is happening from your experience during these particular times?

I did partially wake up a few times that nite, feels like I am fighting the mask at stages, maybe leaks are causing pressure rise.

RE: Newly Diagnosed
Was changing pressure settings in prisma when I noticed the accessories section in the admin menu contained a setting for hose diameter. This was set to 22mm, the hose supplied with machine is a slimline, 15mm. Changed setting to match hose and will see if this makes a difference, I guess this parameter is used by machines algorithm for pressure adjustment.
