Actually, AZ tried to go to Daylight Saving Time back in the 70's as an means of saving energy. It was a dismal failure as the time shift resulted in a significant increase in energy usage. It seems no one took into consideration the effect of increased daylight, and heat in the hottest part of the day, when more businesses were open. Hence, we went back to standard time. There is one of the indian reservations, Navaho I believe, that observes DST.

Oopsie! Guess they didn't see that coming.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems DST isn't as useful as it may have been at one time OR it's not as effective as it was designed.
