[News] RECALL THREAD-- IMPORTANT PHILIPS DREAMSTATION & SYSTEM ONE USERS
RE: RECALL THREAD-- IMPORTANT PHILIPS DREAMSTATION & SYSTEM ONE USERS
I have heard nothing since returning the original Dreamstation, the return of the Dreamstation 2 replacement device, and paperwork for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expense for the purchase of a Resmed during the 20 months interval between the first and second return.

I'm in the exact same situation having returned the original Dreamstation, the replacement Dreamstation 2 and paperwork for out of pocket expense for a new Resmed machine during those 20 months. I've heard nothing from Philips so far. I noticed some people received checks but I selected the card as it was explained that this would be the fastest form of payment.  I guess the courts didn't enforce a timely repayment schedule...

A Question to Consider

Has anyone else worried that Philips might be considering/planning to ask for Blanket Immunity from the new Administration for all of its (Legal, Financial, and FDA Restrictions)???

I have spent 3 and 1/2 years searching for posts that showed all the disgusting things that Philips has done to harm people and then tried to hide those facts from the light of day.

Any immunity would potentially have dire consequences for thousands of people.

You all have a stake in this story, or you wouldn't be reading this now.

I have also received nothing for my submission in the lawsuit, or return of my philips dreamstation over six months ago.  I also asked for electronic payment thinking it would be quicker.  clearly that was a mistake.  i wonder if the "rolling" payments are based on the alphabet, in which case i will probably be one of the last one's paid as my last name is way at the end.

Btreger, I don't see how immunity would be granted or even requested. It seems the new administration is more interested in removing any form of blanket immunity, include for vaccines. Most cases like this have historically been settled by the government with a civil settlement that funds future damage claims. It's been a while since Philips discontinued all U.S. devices and I don't know how they would re-enter the marketplace at this point. The CPAP market is infested with emergency use authorizations for devices from China and India that never were subjected to the testing Philips and Resmed did. They are all based on cursory proofs of concept for PAP devices, but as far as I know, none have to reveal the internal construction, use of insulating foams and issues that came to light in the Philips recalls.

Breaking News not related to the Recall:

The New York Times

F.D.A. Approves Weight Loss Drug to Treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Zepbound is the first prescription drug approved specifically to treat the common condition.

When people have obstructive sleep apnea, they struggle to breathe properly during sleep and can wake up gasping for air. If untreated, obstructive sleep apnea raises the risk for a range of health issues, including cardiovascular problems, diabetes, stroke, and dementia.
