No water tank in my humid summer

No water tank in my humid summer
It seems like a waste of money to buy a side cover to use instead of the standard water tank.
I don't seem to need any additional humidity throughout the summer months .
Has anybody done a diy replacement?

I did purchase one for a back up machine . It makes it a little smaller and I can fit it in a soft side cooler for a 6 pack. It was pretty cheap at around $20 . My reason for doing this was also for camping and hunting trips along with a small power supply.

Doug, Why would you need to buy a cover? If it's really humid where you live. Just turn the humidifier off and don't fill it. No reason at all to buy something.

super7pilot,
Seems like a an empty water chamber would be a dust and dirt collector.
I was going to store it until needed

You could turn off the humidifier (no heat) and still put some water in as a filter of sorts. If it's humid in the house the unheated water would last quite a while.

I am a bit concerned about mildew if I left standing water for a few months.
Seems like an straight adapter and the cpap hose could come out the side possibly and not out of the back in the AirSense 10?

Well i wasn’t thinking months. Maybe every few days to perhaps a week between rinses.

Passive humidification is really nice. let the air pass over the water and the evaporation actually has a cooling effect. If ambient humidity is near 100% there is no evaporation, so it is self-regulating.
