I am using linux mint ... none of the suggestions listed here worked for me.
I can no longer update my system. I guess I will have to reinstall mint to get it working again  needless to say I will not try to install oscar again Post # 7 did not help

Wow, Grayghost4 this is your first post and you've been a member here since 2014.
 Glad you've finally made it here from over at cpap-talk and finally come out of your shell (a bit of Linux humor there) Are you still living in northern Illinois? We might be neighbors - I'm from Dixon, IL. As a fellow Linux user, I hope you get your system back in running order. Hopefully some of the Linux gurus here can help you. Good luck and don't be afraid to post here in the future. We don't byte.

Greyghost4 - I had the same problem before. It is centered around an incomplete OSCAR install. In order to try and help, I need to know the method you used for the OSCAR install ?

I was able to get my system to update again with this command
sudo dpkg --remove --force-all oscar I then created a directory /home/username/Desktop/OSCAR and tryed to install again but had same same results I tryed to install from the ubuntu install
