Your hunch was right. I used the external USB multi-card reader to import data into my Linux laptop looks good now! All other nights are good as well. No weird looking blanks anymore. I should have seen it, because each import yielded a different looking graph.

Look at the good side of the bad reader. If you can't improve your therapy, keep reloading it until it looks good.
