PSA if CPAP seems to be making your issue worse.
Hi all - I was someone who tried CPAP after being diagnosed with sleep apnea.
I tried different pressures. Different masks. Different machines.
It made everything worse. Terrible anxiety and worse fatigue. Could only use it for a couple of days at a time before I had to stop. Felt like I was going crazy - how could a machine that simply blows pressurized air make me feel so much worse?
Well, I recently got a DISE and it showed that I had full epiglottis collapse. CPAP does not help this type of collapse and often makes it worse.
Just wanted to share this for any people who had a really bad time with CPAP. Continue to use this board to help titrate your PAP therapy, but if you’re not improving (or feeling worse), listen to your body. You may have an something similar.
