RE: Please analyze my sleep results
Your 13 AHI falls into the mild category (but close to moderate).

Your AHI is 1 non-supine and 17 supine.  You do much better sleeping off of your back (on your sides, etc.).

Oxygen gets as low as 90.

With the symptoms you have already described, you should show this data to your Dr. (and also your Cardiologist).

It is your decision as to how to want to proceed from then on (for instance if they recommend pap therapy, etc.).

RE: Please analyze my sleep results
Welcome

Assuming you need pap therapy, read the following:

Your apnea is fairly mild, but you have far more centrals (CAs) than the other types of sleep events. You may need a more complicated machine than a regular Cpap or Apap or even a Bilevel.  You could need an ASV machine.  My suggestion is that you have a titration study. This is a second sleep study where they test you on various machines to see what works.  You should ask the technicians to make sure they use an ASV as well as the others, as that may be what you need.  Getting it prescribed isn't easy, as it's a more expensive machine, but maybe if your titration study shows it to be required, your doctor will prescribe it for you.  If the study shows that you need it, push your doctor to prescribe it if he or she hesitates.

Also, some of us have had better results going through our regular doctors rather than sleep specialists.  You can, surprisingly, get the required prescription through any medical provider who can write a prescription, such as a dentist, NP, LPN, dermatologist, etc.

P.S. A low AHI does not mean you don't need therapy. Many with low AHIs desperately need help with their sleep.

Good luck with getting the machine and therapy or whatever help you need!  Smile

Thank you again for the detailed post. My doctor in the report mentioned still as OSA. I enquired why and the office said it maybe due to the machine not being very accurate. They will start this as OSA and then proceed to see if its mixed i think. You think thats the right approach?
