Plmnb's Never Ending OSA Journey (Data)

A wee bit of confusion at this point on my end.

OpalRose, I raised the minimum pressure from 6 to 8 at the suggestion of, I believe bonjour...but I could be wrong, I can't find the post this was mentioned in.

Sleeprider, I guess I'll try your suggestion of raising the max pressure to 20 but should I or should I not raise the min pressure some more?

I just dropped off copies of all my OSCAR data to the office of Dr.Duck, along with an article from this site about FLOW LIMITATION and UARS.  I had the medical assistant initial my copies indicating that she received the information.  I will not be seeing Dr.Duck again, they have scheduled me for a different doctor in their practice.  I am supposed to see him on the 26th.

I also checked to see if the office received the missing medical records from doctor office #2.  They had not.  I called doctor office #2 and was at first told the records were waiting for me to pick-up and they still expected $20.  I informed the woman that, Noooo...the records were supposed to be faxed directly to dr. office #3, at no charge to me as was originally supposed to happen in Nov.  She put me on hold a few moments and then came back on the line to tell me that the office manager faxed the documents this morning to dr. office #2, all 19 or 20 pages.  When I asked at what time, she did not want to give me an answer but eventually I narrowed it down to between 9am and 10am.  I then called dr. office #2 and asked them to look again to see if they had actually been received.  GOOOD GRIEF!!!

I then went to my primary care dr. office and checked in about the prescription for anxiety medicine that was supposedly going to be taken care of yesterday and was not.  The nurse promised the prescription would be available to be picked up later this afternoon.  I probably won't be able to get it until tomorrow.  But hopefully today before work because with not smoking for almost 2 weeks and all this other stress...I really would like to see if it will help calm me down.

I was also given the referral to the ENT.  Let me just say, I am currently having the worst luck with dealing with doctors.  The phone just kept ringing and ringing until an answering machine picked up.  They listed all kinds of info, including their hours...I was calling during the hours.  Then no option for leaving a message or ANYTHING.  I called the number they mentioned for drs. and hospitals...turns out it is the number to my insurance company.  I'm not going to go on about the rest of this particular situation...I'll just try again later today.  Oh-jeez

Anyone have input on the OSCAR graphs for today?

Appreciatively as always,
Plmnb

bonjour,
So what you are saying is the same thing that SR stated in his post above about max pressure and also my post before that stating the minimum pressure is simply too low.

She could raise the minimum slowly if aerophagia is an issue and back off or keep raising as necessary.
Plus the EPR should be left at 3.

Plmnb, the minimum is at 8cm, but your median pressure (where you already spend half the night) is at 12.

These high pressure needs should convince your doctor that a BiLevel would make sleep more comfortable.

I guess some post times crossed [Image: cool.gif]

So, should I increase my min pressure to 12 and max pressure to 20 starting tonight?

I'm still wondering why I had my worst night of RERA last night?

RERAs come from Flow Limits and your flow limits were high at least in part because of insufficient PS/EPR.

Sorry for the confusion plmnb. I asked sleeprider a question and everything after that was the response to that. It wasn’t my intention to cause confusion and doubt. I apologize

Keep EPR at 3 as that’s what you have to work with and it’s needed. If it were a BiLevel, then it would be different.

I agree with SR to raise the max to 20cm.

As far as raising the minimum (my suggestion), bonjour mentioned aerophagia.  If you suffer with this, then a higher min pressure could aggregate that.

Try the max change first.  Then wait and try raising min pressure slowly by 1cm a day.  If no aerophagia and results look good, then raise again.  You should work your min pressure up “slowly” over a course of several days if aerophagia is a problem.

I will digress from this thread as I feel your getting confused with all this. But will keep reading your progress.

RE: Plmnb's Never Ending OSA Journey (Data)
Is it any wonder why I'm currently so confounded by this journey?

I just received a call at work from sleep dr. #3 office. They had made an appointment for me with another doctor in their practice because I was not happy with Dr.Duck. Now, I am told this new dr. is not sleep disorder treatment certified and would I like to see this other doctor in their practice who is certified!

Unbelievable.

I asked the woman who called me, if this doctor they are changing me to is going to be willing to listen to my concerns, actually perform an examination, and be amenable to reviewing all my documents. I wanted to know if he is the type of doctor that takes time to work with his patients to find the best treatment course. She said she couldn't say, and that it was totally up to me if I wanted to see him or not.

The appointment is for tomorrow am. It is now 4:47PM. Very little time to see if I can find a specialist that will be suitable for me.

RE: Plmnb's Never Ending OSA Journey (Data)
I am at work, it is very slow.  I have been reading various threads.  It just came to me...I believe I should have a written list of questions for the new doctor I am SUPPOSED to see tomorrow morning.

If some of you have a moment, would you suggest some of the most important questions/statements/requests, etc. that I should get answers on regarding my particular case.

I would feel much more confident about this appointment going in prepared.  I am so over not being a strong advocate of my own case.

Thank you very much for any help that may be provided in this matter.
