On a similar note, long ago, my doctor said that I had to give up Mediterranean food, my Scotch-Irish body couldn't handle it.
I told him to just shoot me now. Not giving it up .

Pokey49, I get it . Thankfully cpap isn't making your life much worse, like it was not so long ago. Hopefully you get relief in the gut issue.

J Doug since you are Scotch- Irish I figured your doc would have told you to give up the McClellans or Guinness

Well I made it through 7 hours of cpap last night without ripping the mask off in the middle of the night

for some reason one screen shot did not attach to the previous post. Likely operator error.

How did you feel when you woke up?
You had almost 0 obstructive events . Also zoomed in before the CA around 2:20 and before 3:00am? You had some mouth leaks.

Try lowering your max to 11 for a few nights and you won't see the huge pressure spikes.

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
when I woke up before taking off my mask I felt more clear headed than I have been without pap. Not as tired!! More rested. Like mentioned earlier I have a medication issue that I think is complicating things so its hard to tell what all is affecting what at times. But in general I think pap does help me sleep better when it goes according to the preferred protocol/outcome
Aren't the pressure spikes because there is a demand for increased pressure to prevent an OA???

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
Many times the pressure increase is due to flow limits .

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
My chronic flow limitations will spike pressure to its max. That is one of the reasons I reduced max. The spikes caused leaks that woke me and did not address my apneas.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
Been doing a lot of reading and video watching about some of my issues with flow limits and flow chart patterns. I show as class 6.
Been eye opening as to how OVER REACTIVE the resmed algorithm is to flow limits. So have switched to cpap mode as an experiment. POKEY, my sleep Dr. said that being on pap doesn’t mean all sleep will be good. You will have good nights and bad nights just like non-pap users. |
