I am using a ResMed Airfit F30i mask. I like it over using a nasal mask with chin strap because I am a mouth breather often at night. But the mask seems to be leak prone in the early morning hours. I wake up about 3-4am noticing leaks and attempt to readjust the mask a bit to stop the leaks. Not sure why this is happening. My theory is my warm breath makes the mask material more squishy and thus more prone to leaks. Attached is my Oscar report for the night. If I am reading it correctly its not showing a major leak problem. The Resmed MY AIR app on my phone however says my seal is good. Are some leaks just to be expected?

RE: Can't figure out my leak issue
the expected leaks are called intentional because they are considered exhalation. the machine takes the mask into consideration when reporting leaks. if you dive into your mask statistics i believe it tells you the intentional leak rate. so the leaks that are reported are actual unintentional leaks. leaks are expected because leaks happen. the trick is to try to minimize them. 05% leak rate is not bad.

I went to pull my SD card this morning and found that it was not fully inserted into the machine. I know I put it all the way in last night. I had trouble with the machine auto start last night and I took the mask off for a bit in the middle of the night. Would any of these cause the machine to eject the SD card? So I have no data for last night.
My mask gave me fits last night. I woke up feeling leaks and the mask ( F30i) felt "sticky like" against my face and then would pop lose with a burst of air and then leak. Its a royal pain in the ass to monkey with at 2am. Wondering if Id do better going back to the nasal mask I started with?? I am getting to sleep OK but waking up several times and although I got 7.5 hours of therapy I feel like I was hit by a truck.
The machine can't automatically eject the SD card. It didn't latch fully, the way you're describing it. I've had the same thing happen to CPAP devices, radios, scanners, PC. You must push the SD in till it clicks/locks in place.

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
Press the SD card in till it clicks. Once clicked in it will not eject until pressed again with another click to release it.
Silicone to the skin can feel sticky and that's why some use liners. I used them on occasion with an F40 mask to get that sticky feeling gone for a while. With time my cushions can get sticky feeling. I have very oily skin so even if washed thoroughly, it oils up quickly. When I replace cushions each month they have no sticky but it does not take long to develop it.
What you experienced last night is what I call a blowout. My F20 cushions were terrible about it. When my machine would raise pressure air would blow out of the sides of the mask to my face and eyes waking me.
The F40 mask has been the best so far at keeping a seal at higher pressures for me.
It is not uncommon for someone to experiment with many masks. Yes, try all you can to find what suits you best. Some say you can find the "perfect" mask. I think that is hogwash. You find the mask you tolerate the most. Now I have the F40 I wonder how I suffered through F10 and F20.
