SleepRider: OK here I used the advanced view as you suggested to look at respirations from last night. I have no idea what I am looking at. Are the graphs supposed to look like this? what does one look for?

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
I thought that view might give us inspiration rate but unfortunately it's not there. We can see that your respiratory timing is very disturbed near periods of sleep transition and arousal, so I suspect the high respiration rate is mostly where we see things spiking. Give me a 3-4 minute zoom of the flow rate at 02:30, and I think we can probably come up with an answer.

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
Last nights OSCAR. I seem to be having a somewhat regular, repeatable pattern now. My OAs and bumps up in pressure seems to occur primarily early at the onset of sleep and after waking, getting up for a pee break and then resuming therapy (approx. 3:50am), when I then usually have my CAs going from wakefulness to sleep??? My take on last night is I had some long periods of decent sleep between 12:20 and 3:30 and then 4:15-5:00 am?? I cant account for the big mask leaks from one night to the next. Ill hardly get any leaks one night and have big leaks the next
![]() That all said I am still waking in the wee hours feeling pretty rotten. Im pretty sure that is medication related which is something I am addressing in another venue. I dont think PAP is whats making me feel so tough at those times. Thanks as always Pokey

You may want to research the description and causes of Sleep Wake Junk.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice. My suggestions are for consideration, they are not definitive instructions.

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
Pokey, those look like mouth leaks, flat longer leaks, not spiky like mask leaks. Your therapy is compromised.
Consider the SomNoSeal device. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u_S1ADwVmA I use a longer ramp time, set at my minimum pressure. I hate being flagged during the wake sleep junk breathing episodes. I want more accurate information.

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
J Doug: Im not sure how Id be mouth leaking. I put 2 layers of mouth tape over my mouth holding my lips pretty tight together and cant seem to blow air through when I test doing so. Ive tried Somnoseal, not a fan. Makes me slobber a lot. I dont get how folks who use a pillows mask with no mouth tape or other means to sealing their mouth can get by not having leaks. The pressure alone will cause one to puff air out their mouth without knowing it.
EJB: re: sleep wake junk? Is there a discussion of it here on AB somewhere? Or do I need to google it?

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
I drooled quite a bit at first using the Somnoseal but I quit after a few days.
Are you using a 2x5 strip of the Kinesiology cotton elastic athletic tape?

RE: Pokey49 - Therapy Thread
No I switched to Cover-Roll Stretch. I could blow air through the kinesiology tape. This stuff is hard to leak your breath through. Someone on here recommended the Cover Roll Stretch.
I think my leaks are coming from my P30i pillow mask getting knocked askew by my pillow. I’m strictly a side sleeper and I use a memory foam orthopedic pillow. So I assume I’m shifting my head back n forth on the pillow which bumps it askew with my schnoz. I have a Cpap pillow but the same problem happens and it’s less comfy.
