0.6 is remarkably low.

I thought the goal was to get under .2.
The flow limits are raising the pressure, and the pressure swings may cause arousals.

https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...rpretation
Flow Limitation Statistics Interpretation In general, Any flow limitation showing up in the median statistic is a significant problem. 95% Flow Limitation Interpretation > 0.2 Needs more pressure or pressure support < 0.15 Marginal 0.1 Good < 0.05 Excellent and rarely associated with other therapy problems

RE: Posted a while back, still haven't slept
I am in mobile at work but just wanted to pop in first of all, thank everyone for taking the time to interpret my charts. I find it interesting, especially the goal of not waking up, as simple as it sounds.
Last night, I moved the pressure to 7 and it didn't feel right so I moved back to 8 as the night before. I kept the EPR at 2. My breathing did not feel as free as the night prior but still better. I spent a few minutes trying to different mask adjustments and seemed to find a good spot. I am convinced these settings are making a difference, but I'm going to look further into those videos suggested earlier to make sure I have the mask fitted correctly. This evening I will post last night's chart. Thanks again eceryone

I thought the minimum pressure of 7cm would be to low, even 8 might have been low with EPR of 3.
Consider 8.6 as a minimum ,but put EPR back to 3 if your flow limits are above 0.2. Raise the minimum pressure a bit higher if you feel starved for air. If your flow limits are below 0.2, then leave EPR alone. Good luck .

Here is last night's chart. I should note that my mask came off, for how long, I don't know. I'm guessing you will be able to tell when that was; I can't, but you could ;-)
I did sleep though the night again, with the mask on, sans the above mention. I am taking that as encouraging news.

I was able to sleep and keep the mask on for the third night. You might be on to something here. it is still a tiny bit resistant during exhale when I first lie down but eases after my breathing steadies. During the night I don't have to fidget near as much as I did, but still sometimes feels like a bit hard to exhale. Hard isn't the right word, maybe annoyance, However, those occasions are still few and I haven't had to have restroom breaks which is weird since I drink a lot of water, but I am all for not getting up. Looking at this chart, the flow rate is .37 under the 99.5$ column. Is that what I should be using to judge regarding your comment? I have been at 8 and EPR 2, so you think I should go to 8.6 and EPR to 3? I've not had time to learn how to interpret this data yet, but do I have a leakage issue, or does the mask seem to be fitting well based on what you see?
RE: Posted a while back, still haven't slept
Look at the smooth breathes after 3:40 and after 6:10, that is a goal of light sleep.
You had positional apnea after 2:30 you airway got kinked like a garden hose, no amount of pressure increase would help and the high pressure might have caused leaks and woke you up. EPR of 3 may make it easier to exhale. If you feel starved for air ,bump up the minimum .

RE: Posted a while back, still haven't slept
positional apnea? Thats a new one lol
I'm a side sleeper, so that is not surprising to me. What level is bump up to the minimum if I feel I need more air? Other than those spots, does it appear I have any leaks consistent with an ill fitting mask?

Just bump the pressure up 1 cm if you feel starved for air.
Leaks look good. |
