[Pressure] Advice on Pressure Settings

Advice on Pressure Settings
Appreciate advice on getting my pressure settings fine tuned to minimize swings in pressure.  My Rx is min 6 and max 16, which I feel is too large of a spread.   As you can see in my daily OSCAR chart, my Med pressure is 12.4 and 95% is 14.8 with EPR at 1.    Using AirSense 11 with F20 Airfit mask.  Appreciate the help!!!

RE: Advice on Pressure Settings
First, your flow limits are to high so I would set your EPR at 3 full time this should help with the Flow Limits.  Also, your minimum pressure is to low.  Try setting your minimum pressure at 10 and leave you maximum where you have it for now.  Try this for a day or two then post some more charts.  When you do post more charts just include the following.

Events
Flow Rate
pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limitations

RE: Advice on Pressure Settings
Following up…. Spoke to my Dr. and she agreed that increasing min pressure and EPR to 3 would help. Changed to min 8, left max at 16, and increased EPR to 3. Flow limits and pressure spikes leveled out. Best part is that I am now sleeping through the night without being woken up and my AHI went down to .58!
Thanks again Steve for the guidance!!!?

RE: Advice on Pressure Settings
Classic example of how too low a pressure on APAP leads to sleep disruption. APAP is great. But letting it run wild with a super wide pressure range is not doing anyone any good.

Very glad you are the success track.

Just keep an eye on your median and adjust the min pressure to near that.

Glad to hear that the pressure adjustments helped. Can you tell us what your MED pressure and flow limits were after the adjustment.  If we know we may be able to help you fine tune your settings.

RE: Advice on Pressure Settings
Your charts look much better.  Although, your flow limits are still on the high side, 95% at 0.12.  The 95% Flow Limit should be 0.5 or lower.  As you already have the EPR set at 3, all that can be done now to lower your Flow Limits is to raise your minimum pressure.  Your MED (median) pressure is running at 10.4cm, this suggests that you should set your minimum pressure around 10cm.  I would suggest raising your minimum pressure in stages of perhaps .4cm or .6cm a night to help lower your Flow Limits and hopefully improve you sleep quality even more.

RE: Advice on Pressure Settings
Raised my pressure min to 8.4 and Flow Limit went down to .10.    Steve, your last post stated that 95% Flow Limits should be below .5, did you mean .05?  My previous reading was .12, now down to .10 and AHI down to .65.   Should I continue to increase min pressure to try to get below .05 or stay where I am at.  Again, sleeping well with no issues!  See daily chart below.   Please advise and thanks for the help!

RE: Advice on Pressure Settings
Yup, I meant .05, I would guess that you still need more pressure.   Try this, using your last chart enlarge about a one minute section of your Flow Rate from the 12:00PM area and the same from the 12:40PM area.  This may give you little more information about your Flow Limits.  If the top of your flow wave is not rounded, but rather flat you most likely need some more pressure.  See the chart below and see if your wave is more like the top sample or one of the others that are showing flow limitations.
