Confused on what settings are best for me
Hi! I've been using my machine for several years now and went a little overboard messing with settings and I feel like I can't get back to the good night's sleep I used to get even on the original settings. I need help.
I went back through my OSCAR data for the past year (hopefully that's not too far back) and took 7-10 samples from each pressure setting I've tried (excluding days with a lot of leaks to avoid skewing the data) and calculated the average AHI, 95% flow limitation, and 99.5% flow limitation. I am listing those below:
9-16 EPR OFF
Average AHI 1.22
Average 95% FL 0.03
Average 99.5% FL 0.20
9-20 EPR 1
Average AHI 1.43
Average 95% FL 0.05
Average 99.5% FL 0.21
9-20 EPR 2
Average AHI 1.40
Average 95% FL 0.03
Average 99.5% FL 0.19
10-15 EPR OFF
Average AHI 1.08
Average 95% FL 0.10
Average 99.5% FL 0.27
10-15 EPR 1
Average AHI 1.03
Average 95% FL 0.17
Average 99.5% FL 0.34
11-15 EPR 1
Average AHI 0.96
Average 95% FL 0.08
Average 99.5% FL 0.31
12-16 EPR 1 (2 samples)
Average AHI 1.66
Average 95% FL 0.08
Average 99.5% FL 0.23
12-20 EPR 3 (2 samples)
Average AHI 1.10
Average 95% FL 0.13
Average 99.5% FL 0.41
The last 2 are the most recent settings I've tried. I didn't like 12 with EPR 1 and for some reason I thought going up to 12 EPR 3 would be better but it feels worse in every way. I feel like I can't breathe as well and I am SOOOO tired. I feel like EPR tries to force me to breathe at a different pace than I am comfortable with, or maybe I'm just really sensitive to the pressure difference?
And here's a screenshot of OSCAR data for the last 3 pressure settings I've tried, 12-20 EPR 3, 12-16 EPR 1, and 11-15 EPR 1:
My AHI is pretty stable around 1-2 but my flow limitation keeps sneaking up as I raise the pressure, even when adding EPR which everything I've read says it should help with high flow limitations.
I also put my recent data into the glasgow index and apparently I have an issue where 80-90% of the time I don't pause between breaths. I just go from one breath to another. Apnea-wise this seems like it's ideal but the index seems to say this is a problem. Is it something I should be concerned about?
I hope this is enough (but not too much lol) information, if not please let me know what I can provide.
