Pressure Relief Setting in User Menu
I just got a new Airsense 11 Autoset to replace my previous unit of the same model.
I made sure that all of my settings in the clinical menu were set the same as before, including EPR set to 3.
(That setting made a large difference in my AHI numbers. I was typically around 0.5.)
My first couple of nights were around 1.5 AHI, not bad, but higher than I have been.
This moning I noticed that in the USER menu there is slider for Pressure Relief, and that was off.
Am I correct to assume that will enable or disable EPR? In other words my setting of EPR 3 was not actually working while that slider was off?
RE: Pressure Relief Setting in User Menu
Need to see a chart to know what events and other respiratory issues we are dealing with. It will help to compare previous settings before EPR with EPR at 3. The use of EPR does lower expiratory minimum pressure (EPAP), and we don't know if that is a factor without some further information, especially the type of events that increased. Your profile does not show that you use
OSCAR software, and that is going to provide the best information. Tutorials on organizing charts and posting image and file attachments are linked in my signature.

I appreciate the reply.
My question is really just regarding the function of the pressure relief slider in the user menu.
If it's OFF, I am assuming that the EPR setting in the clinical menu.
Is that correct?
Just for my context:
Regarding the data. I have previously used Oscar, and then more recently Sleep HQ.
Using those tweaks, I had some changes to my original RX settings: 8-12 no EPR.
My first tweaks based on Oscar was to let the machine go as high as 20, and to add EPR 1.
That improved my therapy a bit.
About 30 months ago after getting my first Airsense 11, I got advice using Sleep HQ data to go to 12-17 with EPR 3.
This was after trying some interim settings and data.
Using 12-17 with EPR 3 provided excellent results.
So, my guess is the having the EPR at 3 in the clinical menu, but with that Pressure Relief slider to OFF in the user menu, that EPR would not be active. That would explain the difference in my AHI.
I don't have the SD card in my new machine yet, but I will do so if I think I need more detailed analysis.

Here's information I found on line:

So if this is right, yes, you do need to toggle the switch on before setting your EPR level.

Thanks.
That is what I expected.
The setting must have been toggled ON for my older machine.
I don't remember that setting, but I do know my EPR was set to 3. While I had EPR 3 in the clinical menu, the toggle in the user menu was OFF so I wasn't getting EPR.
I have it set to ON now, so I think my settings will now be as expected.
RE: Pressure Relief Setting in User Menu
YEP!
That toggle was the issue. AHI back to 0.4 last night. EPR makes a big difference in my results.
I guess I had not noticed that toggle before, and I assumed that the settings in the clinical menu automatically took hold.
You need to have that Pressure Relief toggle set to ON in order to enable EPR.
Thanks for all of the replies.

Glad all is well!
