Pressure raises when there is ca events

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Thanks sleeprider for all your help.  I was also thinking to reduce max to 15 but if most events are with the max pressure does  it make sense to reduce since I do need it? Not really understanding the process.  Trying real hard to understand this.
Can you please explain what you me by"The events on Sunday seem to taper-off into the apnea which is not typical for OA."

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
The events on Sunday show a steady diminishing of respiratory flow approaching the apnea. That is usually a characteristic of a central. With obstructive apnea, there is often a sign of airway collapse like flow limitation or irregular breathing we don't see here. Also, on resumption of breathing, there seems to be a smooth transition back into breathing without an apparent arousal or recovery breathing. No way to know for sure, but it looks a little more central.

As far as pressure, it's again hard to explain because, there are many individuals I have worked with that do better with lower pressure. Your previous discomfort and aerophagia are all reasons to reduce pressure for comfort, even if it might let a few events through. In your case, we have lowered pressure a lot in two ways, EPR and reduced maximum pressure. So far we have not seen any adverse result of that reduction, and the benefits you described above seem considerable. I don't focus on individual events, but trends, and so far, the trend says you can tolerate a small further reduction.

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Thank you Sleeprider  for your help.  I will reduce max pressure tonight to 15 and will post data in a few days.
Trying to really get a grasp on understanding this ,but can you please explain what you are seeing exactly in my data when you say"steady diminishing of respiratory flow approaching the apnea".What are you looking at in the data that says this?
Again thanks a lot, without your help would't be getting better!!

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Well I lowered my max pressure to 15 for the past 4 days.  Aerophagia is now gone, sleeping better and not waking up due to high pressure.  Also feeling a little better in the morning and am definitely not as tired in the morning.
I have posted 3 days data this week, Monday forgot to put sd card in. Question is should I keep things the same, should I try and reduce the max pressure any further?  I'm not sure about that because it seems that I still might need that max pressure .
Again thanks so much for your help in making my cpap experience a better one.
