RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
I can not vouch for the eBay site, that price seems to good to be true. Perhaps it is a "Checkme O2" and not the "Checkme O2 Max", 16 hour battery life versus 72 hour battery life.
I can vouch for Amazon stores that sell the Checkme O2 Max.
With the Amazon store's I have product support from Wellue's service department.
With an email that includes a copy of the invoice/purchase order and a description of the issue or faulty part, to their service department, I have received a replacement unit for either the wrist device or the ring sensor, within four days.
We have four Wellue Checkme O2 Max's in our house, that are utilized daily, I have had to replace sensor units several times and the wrist unit twice, every time it was painless.
I did find the WearPulse format for the "O2 Insight Pro" added a little bit more information for time duration & % of time of SpO2 levels at 95-100%, 90-94% and <90%, Also for Pulse rate time duration and % of time at levels >120/min, 50 - 120/min and <50/min.
We wish you well..
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
I think your right about the "too good to be true" sentiment and I do like the idea of aftersales support. For what its worth, the eBay item says it's the Max and shows a picture of the box and the seller description is the 72-hour charge.
I'll probably go with Amazon.

Is this software for the Checkme O2 Max or a different product?
Do you use any of them in your family for exercise?
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
Yes the O2 Insight Pro software will work with all of the different name branded Checkme O2 Max devices I know of.
We do not "exercise" as in gym class in high school. But the activities of daily life, house cleaning, gardening, landscaping, lawn care, outside house maintenance, light automotive maintenance, recreational bicycle riding, moving out of rooms for painting, carpet removal, flooring install. As I stated before we normally wear fingerless gloves but some activities require heavier leather or water resistant gloves.
Walking the dogs and recreational bicycle riding is the closest to exercise for the sake of exercise we get.
If you are power lifting or doing rebar, concrete work, maybe not.
But if it is vital you constantly monitor your SpO2 levels, I may suggest you purchase a spare sensor from Amazon, so if you do damage the sensor ring, you will have a spare while you wait for a replacement.
Keep us posted how you do.
As always if you have any questions, concerns or doubts, post back.
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
My Wellue O2 ring consistently reads 3-5% below two other oximeters I have (two different companies which match each other.) It's not accurate at all for me.
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
Shallbreathe, the Photo-optic technology utilized in these type of Pulse/Oximeter is accurate within +or- 2% of actual SpO2.
So, if your other units are 2% higher than actual SpO2, and the O2 Ring is 2% lower than actual SpO2, they are all still within the accuracy of the technology. Now, for me, I would rather have a device that was 2% lower than actual SpO2, I would rather present a recording that showed me at 87% SpO2 and have my medical staff respond according to verify that recorded SpO2, than to have a recording show 91% SpO2 and the medical staff be satisfied with the recorded information and not investigate further.
Now there are outside influences that can affect the accuracy of the reading, stray light, temperature of the fingers, blood flow restrictions for various reasons, skin pigmentation, artificial coloration (squid ink, henna, or nail polish).
There again, I did choose the Checkme O2 Max over the O2 Ring because of the style of sensor ring. The Checkme O2 Sensor allows me to wear fingerless gloves to eliminate stray light, keep the fingers warm and hold the sensor tight to the finger, all of which will affect accuracy. The fact the Checkme O2 Max sensor is also replaceable, is also a major factor in my decision to select it over the O2 Ring.
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
I have the Checkme O2 Max and also bought it of the auction/buy It Now site starting with e. The seller offered a 1 year warranty of refurbished and when the connection got wonky, sent me a replacement the same day I message through that site. The results from it matched the results from my sleep med practice overnight oximetry study.
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
Somewherein413, that is good to know that there are reliable vendors on eBay, I have had my Checkme O2 Max checked by my anesthesiologist during surgery, he was very favorably impressed, he stated he tracked it down to the lower 70%.
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
I believe that it is the same seller on Amazon selling returned items after checking/refurbishing them over from shipping and sleuthing on ebay. My replacement one was new I believe.
RE: Pulse oximeter recommendations?
Somewherein413, would that be the same eBay vendor that MikeVet used in this post?
