Relative - Resmed Aircurve10 ST-A Therapy Help

RE: resmed aircurve10 ST-A bought
Relative, before you change-over, I'd like to to try one more night with the Resmed Autoset with some setting changes:
Mode Autoset Minimum Pressure 9.0 Maximum pressure 14.0 EPR ON, Full-time EPR Setting 3 Ramp off, or at highest pressure tolerated on Auto. Your hypopnea were the result of flow limitations and we can see the flattened, decapitated inspiration flow wave and shaggy sharp expiration in your chart. That shows you were struggling to get a breath. If it's not too late to change, the ST-A is NOT the device you need, please consider exchanging for an Aircurve 10 or 11 Vauto. The ST-A delivers bilevel pressure with a square-wave pressure transition, rather than the more comfortable and natural Easybreathe. It is also a fixed pressure device, and more intended for pulmonary diseases like COPD and is actually capable of being a noninvasive ventilator. You would be much happier with the Vauto.

RE: resmed aircurve10 ST-A bought
With the HF and other issues listed above, the ST-A is the appropriate device. I'll continue to check-in as you get started with the new device. Glad the Airsense 10 gave you better results with some setting changes, but I was unaware of your health issues. Do you have, or need some initial settings to get started?

Sounds like the OP is wanting iVAPS mode, as it sounds most appropriate. I should have a screenshot of the Titration data if you need it Sleeprider.

This is the titration protocol, but it's not all that easy to understand without some coaching. Hope you'll help with this Dave.

RE: resmed aircurve10 ST-A bought
Sure will.
Possible beginning area is dialing in the backup breath rate. If there's a good number, it can be added in direct. Alternately is the test I'm thinking Target Backup Rate. Not seeing it just now in my info, but will add when I do find it. It's an auto test based on patient data then mask and machine on, start test. I did the test mode myself, but went with manual set to backup breath 10, I think I based that on my low average of breath rate 12 and took 2 off to keep iVAPS out of the way a bit. Sorry for vagueness it's been a while.

RE: resmed aircurve10 ST-A bought
That's why we wanted a set of data from the Autoset is to learn more about respiration stats before we try to intervene. We learned that we can target a respiration rate of 13-14, Vt 600-650, Vm 8.0-9.0 L/min, and can probably use the EPAP range starting at 9.0, possibly rising to 12.0. The Ti looks like we want a longer rise time, and PS min of 3-4 is probably needed to maintain volume with less device interference.

Makes sense here. My trial of the ST-A was a few years ago, so until I get mine, no updates yet, but my info may be fuzzy.
