Removing Mask during the night....

Removing Mask during the night....
Hello,
I have been using CPAP for about 15 months & lately I've been having a troubling issue, About 5 months ago, I started to remove the mask unconciously(while I'masleep) during the night, I t happens every night now which means I'm losing precious hrs. of quality sleep each night. I'll wake up after 3 or 4 hrs & the mask will either be in the bed or on the floor. Sometimes this happens multiple times a night. Prior to this, I would remove the mask sometimes at night if I woke up & it was leaking or something & I couldn't get it to fit right in the middle of the night but I always conciously did this. I would remember doing it but now I'm doing it in my sleep. Anyone else have this unusual issue & what can be done to resolve it if anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: Removing Mask during the night....
I recently started getting this mask-tossing problem, too. I'm thinking my machine isn't set quite right and I'm having trouble breathing. It happened last night, and I notice it happened right after a slew of apnea events (hard to tell on me whether they're centrals or obstructives). Time to call my Sleep Center.

So, you might want to look at your SleepyHead charts, in case your settings are encouraging you to remove your mask because you aren't breathing right. Post them here if you need input.

If you look through several posts, you'll see that Advisory Members and Monitors post instructions for SleepyHead. Also look at SleepyHead charts others have posted: the newbie threads almost always have charts like this.

Get an SD card. Insert in machine. Transfer data to your computer via SD card reader.

Did you make any changes to your pressure five months ago, or change mask types?
Also, make sure your machine is set to full face mask.

Something is making you uncomfortable to cause you to remove your mask.  It could possibly be that your minimum pressure is set too low and causing you to feel starved for air.

Although, I don’t like advising on pressure changes without seeing data, but it wouldn’t hurt to turn it up to 6cm.

First, download the free #SleepyHead software.  Then follow the tutorials in my signature line and use an outside source like imgur to post a screenshot of the daily page here.  Pay attention to the organization of the graphs.

You’ve been on therapy for 15 months and after time your pressure needs could change.  We can take a look at your data and possibly see something that may be causing you discomfort.
