ResMed S9 Card Reading Issue

We have, off and on, had an issue with the ResMed S9 Elite saying it could not read the SD card. Powering the machine down and up again has always worked, and no data has been lost, but this is a pain when you are ready for bed!

A week ago we started using a USB card reader, rather than putting the SD card directly into my computer (a MacBook Air). The SD card has not failed even once since that time. The SD card is always locked when in the computer so I don't know why this helps but it seems to have solved the issue for us.

I had this problem with the old computer but problem solved since my son replace it with a new one
maybe the old one got some viruses trying to write something on the card so locking the card can prevent anything written on the card
