Resmed airsense 10 (apap) setting with oscar.
Hi All
I am helping my son with his cpap. I believe it is actually APAP.  We have used Oscar to see when there are leaks and what we can do to help.
His AHI score is low but is frequently over 11cm most nights and reaching maximum levels. Headaches are severe in the day.  His settings are 4cm-12cm I believe. However, AHI is showing as boxes on oscar? is this of concern? Should I discuss this further with a clinician. I will mention it regardless. There was no large leak during this period. His leaks are minimal most of the time. What do these boxes mean?

Thank you all. This is my first post.

RE: Resmed airsense 10 (apap) setting with oscar.
Welcome

Unless your son is a small child his beginning pressure is too low.  It needs to be raised to at least 7 if he is close to adulthood.

To get real help his Oscar chart needs to be set up differently.  If you copy the chart by tapping the f12 button (or f12 & fn on a Mac), the chart will be mostly right.  Make sure we see the following, and only the following, in the order listed:

Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limits

We need to be able to read to the very bottom of the Flow Limits.

Don't worry about the AHI boxes.  It's the number of AHIs at the top of the left panel that matter, and those are nice and low.

Again, welcome, and good luck with getting your son's therapy optimized!  Smile
