I acquired a used A10 for her , from my wife and I would like to continue using my card with its data.
But I don’t want to take a chance losing my history.

RE: SD card ?
Even if it doesn't reformat the card, you will certainly lose access to your old data on that card. The 'new' machine will rewrite the identification and statistics files, and start a new set of detailed data files.
OSCAR keeps a backup of your old data, so it will not be lost. However, it is still better to continue to use the card that was used in the 'new' machine. I think you would want to reset it to factory defaults and erase the internal data to prevent overlapping data in your profile. I assume your wife has her own profile for OSCAR data, so that will not be lost. Don't hesitate to ask questions if any of that is not clear - i don't think I've had enough coffee yet. Admin Note:
