Seeking Challenging Stories of Getting Your ASV Prescription Filled
Hoping to learn if anyone else besides me has experienced a rather hellish time being prescribed an ASV machine and having had much difficulty in getting that prescription filled. Some of you may have read my Colorado Apnea Journey and learned about the challenges I have faced in moving from a doctor-prescribed CPAP/APAP to an ASV machine to tame my complex sleep apnea. I have never experienced anything like this! The DME provider has proved to be a brick wall, and I am switching to another to try again.
The coaches on this forum have been spectacular and helped me understand what the CPAP/ASV prescription process *should* look like and how to self-advocate. The Wiki on DME is superb. But I wonder how deep this rot is from DME providers for those of us trying to use our insurance to pay.
I am a researcher by trade, and naturally curious. I'd welcome any of your horror stories or challenges.
