Sleep Study Results - Help?

Question
Sleep Study Results - Help?
Looking for a second opinion on my sleep study that I was titrated in.

I felt pretty crummy and woke up early about 5.5 hours in, which matches my experience sleeping at home. I usually wake up feeling extremely hot like I have a fever and with my clothes drenched in sweat. If I fall back asleep it tends to be another 5-6 hours of very dreamy sleep with constantly waking up with the same symptoms.

When I fall back asleep like that after those initial 5.5 hours, I feel like when I got anesthesia for surgery or have the flu levels of fatigue when I eventually wake up. Again I recall constantly waking up feverishly hot and sweaty multiple times in those 5-6 hours.

If I manage to stay awake after those 5 hours the fatigue is much better but I'm still very sleepy in the conventional sense. Either way I feel quite bad. CPAP/BiPAP hasn't had any noticeable effect.

On my sleep study I see there's a gap in my heart rate data when I wake up, then it resumes at 170bpm. This lines up with when I woke up feeling very sweaty and hot. It seems to start when REM sleep starts which explains why I usually recall dreaming before waking up feeling very bad.

When I asked my sleep doctor about the study he said the results looked good (exact words were something like "nothing to be concerned about") and had me titrated on 8CM of water on my CPAP at the time. Obviously I don't feel any better so I was wondering if I could get a second opinion here.

RE: Sleep Study Results - Help?
The brief period where several leads on the PSG did not record data was indicated as "awake" sleep stage. Whatever caused it, it was while you were awake and transitioning from REM to awake. We don't have movement data. Data interruption, like a pulse/ox lead coming off is far more likely than any heart issues, and the EEG lead continued to record.

The titration started at 7 cm for 13 minutes, and the rest of the test was fixed at 8 cm. Try to get a Resmed Airsense 11 Autoset CPAP and we can get you dialed in more comfortably. While the titration hits its objective of less than 5 events per hour at 8 cm H2O, there is a lot more to getting comfortable. The Resmed device has a feature called EPR (exhale pressure relief) that works like a bilevel machine and can clean up the hypopnea and offer much more comfortable sleep. Do not let them dispense some device from BMC China. Only accept the Resmed, and be firm about it. I'll just add, a titration test is not required for insurance, when a diagnostic test has confirmed obstructive sleep apnea. It pays the doctor's boat payment, but offers very little useful information that can't be obtained by observing CPAP data at home. In the end, you will end up with different settings to make the therapy more effective and comfortable. If you can, use your primary doctor as your "treating physician" to track your treatment and write future prescriptions. A sleep doctor is rarely your best choice.

RE: Sleep Study Results - Help?
I prefer the Autoset 10 you have to the 11.  I used an 11 for a few weeks and returned it to go back to the 10.  If your AutoSet 10 has not expired it is a good machine and does not need replacing.

Check your OSCAR reports to see how well your therapy is going and attach one to a post in this thread and suggestions will be made on how you may adjust your AutoSet 10 for optimum results.

Night sweats are something both me and my brother began experiencing once over age 65.  Reading about them finds several possible causes.  Research night sweats for examples.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.  My suggestions are for consideration, they are not definitive instructions.
