Smart start [and leak report]

Smart start [and leak report]
Has anyone found when using smart start that if you remove your mask in the middle of the night for bathroom trips, the next day the leak rate gets affected.
Is this a normal or as a result of frequent removals?

Thanks

RE: Smart start
The time it takes the machine to figure out there's no breathing is going to increase your leaks a little. You can always just turn off the machine with the button to avoid any increase.

RE: Smart start
I noticed when using Smart Start and removing the mask to turn the CPAP off would record a large leak in SleepyHead but not in ResScan. The best that I can determine is ResScan has logic that nullifies a large leak if the unit is shut down immediately after reporting the leak and Smart Start is active.

I'm still trying to figure it out. The thing is then you'd have a leak every time you took a leak (so to speak), and the leak would show up right next to a break. And if SmartStart wasn't intelligent enough to determine that you took the mask off, it would shut off every time you had a significant apnea.   Thinking-about

I've used SmartStart to start the machine after getting ready/positioned to sleep, but the off button before detaching the hose. Eventually I just turned it off altogether.

RE: Smart start [and leak report]
I use smart. Start to start the machine but then button on top to turn off that way no leaks in sleepyhead and no rushing of air before it detects the leak. When I tried just removing the mask the machine took a few seconds to turn off and the leak rate in sleepyhead went to 100ltr before the machine shutdown. Which meant my leak graphs look funky. It is also mentioned in the manual that smart start does not work with the pillow masks. I assume a pillow mask limits the maximum flow rate of the machine so with the mask off your face it looks to the machine like a leak rather than a mask removal (there is a small level of restriction inherent in the mask)
