Sudden large leaks. What can I change while waiting on a new mask.

Sudden large leaks. What can I change while waiting on a new mask.
Hello peeps Hi ,

Ive been using CPAP for almost 12months now. Everything has kind of been going ok, until about 2 or 3 months ago. I have started getting large leaks most nights when previously I hadnt and of course I now feel like shiiiiit all over again.

Seems kind of random to suddenly start, with the only thing I can link it to could be changing hormones. Apparently menopause (progesterone) can have an effect on apnea. However this may or may not be the cause.

Because of these large leaks (I've never been a mouth breather) I've started taping my mouth, though sometimes my jaw will fall apart and my cheeks will then blow up like a balloon instead. I am also swallowing air.
Ive swapped from pillows to cushion, back to pillows again as I cant get the cusion to line up properly. I've bought the new AirTouch N30i and swapped the cushion for the pillows.

I am careful not to make the straps too tight to counter the leaks, but I must move around a lot in my sleep and find the strap that is at the back of my head will often end up at the top of my head and need to pull it down to its regular place. Because of that, as well as my jaw dropping open for some reason, I have ordered the new Airfit X30i for the extra strap around the back of the head and the mouth piece. Not sure when that will arrive in Australia though.

Im also considering a soft collar. Are there any recommendations?

While I am waiting, I was wondering if there is anythign you can see in my data that could be a better setting on my machine right now?

Currently I am using:

Mode APAP
Pressure Min 9.00 cmH2O
Pressure Max 15.00 cmH2O
EPR Full Time
EPR Level 3 cmH2O
Humidifier Status Off
Mask Pillows
Ramp Off
Response Standard
Smart Start On
Temperature 21 ºC

Thanks heaps in advance. :-) Thanks

Consider using the SomnoSeal device, a soft, flexible mouthpiece that prevents mouth breathing and dry mouth during sleep.

Since you obstructive events are well controlled, try a minimum and maximum of 10cm for a few nights, might help with the leaks until the new mask comes.
